Those are certainly some of the best in recent years, although I would say Ronaldo is a forward not a midfielder. It really depends on the type of midfielder you are talking about as there are different roles.

Well, this is debatable as there are many good Central Midfielders, including Luka Modric, Andres Iniesta, Juninho, Steven Gerrard, Cesc Fabregas, Xavi and each one of these fabulous players contributes in a very valuable role. In my honest opinion, you can dictate that one of these gentlemen are the "Best" as they are all important to their teams.
