Svetlana Masterkova holds the world record for the Mile run at 4:12.56 which is 9.35 meters longer than the 1600. Her mile time is more than three seconds faster than the second best ever. Additionally Masterkova was known for winning her races from the front, rather than sprinting for the finish, so it is impossible any other individual could have arrived at the 1600 meter mark ahead of her adjusted mile time or even her actual mile time.
