Mildred Ella Didrikson, better known as Babe was an American athlete. She won two gold medals and one silver medal for Track and Field in the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics. Although she took up the game of Golf later in life, she went on to become America's first female golf celebrity and the leading player of 1940-1950.
She was an all around athlete persisting of many Olympic medals. She was born on June 26, 1911. and died of cancer in 1956.
