Rep soccer is a higher level of soccer for more talented players. It is two levels above house league and much more competitive. The players are required to 'try out' and the best will be offered a spot on the team. To play Rep soccer and maintain a position on the team, the players need to be committed and hardworking.
To keep up their blood sugar level.
It depends at what level and in what country they play in. Professional soccer players are obviously good and even the lowest division of football in England are better than people who enjoy a kick-about in the park. Those who play soccer full time or part time are good at football, otherwise the club wouldn't sign them. Even supposedly soccer "flops" such as Fernando Torres and Stewart Downing are brilliant footballers and would dominate a soccer game of a lower level.
It depends on what age level. On some you play 8v8, but when you get older you play 11v11
Soccer Players. The field is much larger, and endurance is a much larger factor in soccer. Soccer games are also MUCH longer than basketball games, no matter what level you're playing in. Also, there are only 3 substitutions allowed the whole soccer match as opposed to unlimited in basketball. Basketball players run an average of 5 miles per game while soccer players run 7 miles per game.
1 of 5,000 players will make it more than 5 years at the NHL level.
Every professional soccer (Association football) club in the world is continually seeking young players. Soccer players have a notoriously-short career expectancy because of the extreme level of athleticism required to excel. Thus, they all need a continual supply of young players to replenish retiring ones.
Soccer cleats are recommended for players of any age. Children's cleats are designed especially for players who are just starting out. They are safe to use regardless of skill level and will improve traction on the field.
The term recreational soccer is applied to soccer that is played "for fun" by a variety of players who may or may not have the skill and ability to move "up" to competitive play. It is soccer at the "basic" level where all of the same things applied in competitive soccer (i.e., coaching, team practices, match scheduling, etc.) are all in place to provide a platform for anyone to play the game. Recreational soccer is played in all age ranges and across a number of venues. It may be used as a "training ground" for younger players who, when they are motivated and/or "discovered" by someone, will move to a competitive venue where a more "sophisticated" level of the game is played. That is not to say recreational soccer has any less "status" than competitive soccer, but that it provides an outlet for someone to play without lots of practices and the blocking out of more time to train and improve personal and team skills. Recreational soccer deserves our full support in all communities. There is no doubt that there are recreational players who might not have the skills and ability to play at the competitive level, but it could be argued that recreational soccer is played in the "best spirit" of the game of soccer. And this because there is nothing "at stake" in a recreational game; it is played purely for enjoyment. And in that light, recreational soccer reaches more players than competitive soccer does. It is recreational soccer that clings to the heart of the true soccer fan because it is played by "everyone" and does not "lock out" players with less skill or athletic ability like competitive soccer does.
A soccer team is made up of many people besides the actual players. First of all a great team needs an outstanding coach who has experience with the game. Teams may also have trainers, managers, medical staff, nutrition specialists and so on. The team outside of the players expands with the level of play. Professional teams have more "team members" than recreational teams.
PDL is an acronym that stands for Professional Development League. PDL Soccer is a league in the United States set up in order to better prepare and identify college players to play at a professional level.
Yes. It can be a very fast game and players are trying to get into good positions and get past defenders if they are trying to score, or trying to keep close to strikers if they are defenders. So there is a lot of movement in a good soccer match. Players need to be fit to play it at the top level.
