Ali was born on January 17, 1942 and he won his 1st World Heavyweight Title on February 25, 1964 when he stopped Sonny Liston in 7 round. So that would make him 22 years, 1 month and 8 days old when he won the Title.

I believe it was 1979. It was a rematch with Leon Spinks after Leon won previously. *Leon only had 7 fights before he fought Ali the 1st time and beat him....7 fights!! Ali beat Spinks in the next fight winning a 15 round decision. That is the last time he one the title making him the only fighter to regain the heavyweight title 3 times until Evander Holyfeild later duplicated the same feat almost 15 years after Ali finally retired in 1980. However, by then the Heavyweight division was so split up that anyone could have a claim of the title! So to me Ali is still the only true heavyweight to be recognized as the sole champ 3 times!
