1)check your shift linkage and see if there is any play in the joints (woren out ruber bushings ect)2)check if the linkage bar for damage (bends cracks ect)3)remove rubber covering from shifter and examine the 5 gear position for any obstructions 4)transaxle damage possible striped 5 gear causeing the slipping out of gear
There could be several reasons, such as oil levels, or the engine may be getting old.
That would be the OVERDRIVE selector switch.
Not really describing answer , but i would assume you shifter cables have broken
