Mainly a bike is tuned after every month. So you tune a bike after one month even in winters.
In tunning a bike, you would take out the carborator and each screw of carborator and clean it.Mainly It is cleaned in Petrol.
Second thing you would do is clean the air filter. It would be soaked till it is saturated in gear oil like the air filter element of Honda CG125 is soaked is GEAR OIL no: 80-90.
After that you would open the engine and set valve timing and clean the valves.
You will also clean the spark plug. To clean it,first you will dip it in Petrol and burn it.The you will rub it with a sand paper and finally you will clean the bottom with a pin.
The last few things are not so important.
Oil the Wires of brakes and cluch.
Grease the chain.
And Oil the wire of Throttle.
may need to tune it. mess with the idle screws til it starts(should be located near carborator
A pocket bike can be tuned up by adjusting the carburetor and changing the spark plug. Changing the spark plug wire when necessary will also help with a tune up for this type of bike.

You should do it if you don't have a car to drive, or someone to drive for you. If you can reach school by walking, you can do that, or simply ride your bike. (Which I prefer.) And 1 more reason is, riding your bike is fun! (Unless it's winter!)

Probably there are chances that it may get rusty. So there are some safety tips you have to follow in order to protect your mountain bike. 1. Install Fenders: Fenders keep snow and other nasty winter stuff off everything on your bike except the wheels and will keep you clean-except your feet. 2. Soften Suspension: Cold weather can make suspension forks that use elastomers feel stiffer. Switching to the next softest level can help maintain consistent travel for winter. Most new forks don't use elastomers. The only ways to tell if your fork does: Check the owner's manual or open that baby up and look inside the fork leg. 3. Clean twice the mountain bike as often immediately when you get back from the winter bike ride. Remove all your winter seal coverings and give the bike a thorough wash.
