Step1 Decide on the kind of plan you want. You can buy inexpensive plans to build a skateboard mini-ramp, or sketch out your own plans.
Step2 Plan the size of the skateboard mini-ramp to build. Most mini-ramps are 8 feet wide and a bit over 2 feet tall.
Step3 Find a large workspace for your plans and tools. == Step1 Place a piece of 3/4-inch plywood on a flat surface. Draw a straight line up the right-hand side, measuring to the highest point of the mini-ramp. This is usually about 24 to 28 inches.
Step2 Draw another straight line out to the left toward the center of your plywood board, measuring about 2 feet. This is the deck.
Step3 Sketch a straight line along the bottom of the skateboard mini-ramp, about 5 feet. This is the bottom of the mini-ramp.
Step4 Connect the top of the deck to the endpoint of the bottom using a curved line for the ramp. It is a good idea to use a half-circle drawing tool so the curve is true. == Step1 Cut along the lines using a skil-saw so the curves are smooth.
Step2 Repeat on a second piece of plywood for the other side.
Step3 Connect the two sides with 2-by-4's. Make sure they are at intervals frequent enough to support the mini-ramp.
Step4 Use a single sheet of 3/8-inch plywood for the actual mini-ramp section, bending it to fit over the curve.
Step5 Finish rough edges.
there are several types of ramps you can build but i think iff you just have a garden or garage you may want to build a mini ramp.for an 8' wide one you will need:
2x4 studs(8') 67
2x6 studs(8') 6
4x4 studs(6') 8
Plywood-1/2" 18
Plywood-3/4" 8
Masonite-1/4" 9
Nails(16d) 1,000
Screws(2" wood) 500
Coping(2 3/8"o.d. 16'
This will depend on the size of the Mini Ramp. The usual is 4' for the beginner ones. The following will apply for the supplies:
Three 4'x8' sheet of 3/4" plywood
Four 4'x8' sheets of 3/8" plywood
Thirty 8' 2x4's
two 16" black steel pipes
A bunch of screws and a drill
A pencil
A tape measure
Something to cut the pieces with
The required safety gear
RASP does have a mini ramp, its a 4ft mini (its pretty nice). it usually gets crowded quickly though
all depends how big you want your ramp to be and how thick your wood is etc. etc.
It is alright for the surface of the ramp but not for the structure of the ramp.
get wood
yes u need a metal coping for a mini ramp then it wouldn't work....good luck.
No, your better off starting on a 4 foot mini ramp. Perfect any moves before taking on a halfpipe.
Yes, i do want to build a ramp for skateboarding
Actually, they're the same exact thing.
Information on how to build a wheelchair ramp can be found online at http://home.howstuffworks.com/home-improvement/construction/projects/build-wheelchair-ramp.htm. The site has a step by step detailed set of articles that give instruction on how to build a wheelchair ramp.
Depending on your level of expertise and the type of ramp you want to build there are a number of places that provide plans and instructions on how to build a bike ramp. For a basic bike ramp Instructables has detailed pictures of how to assemble the ramp what materials and tools you will need, and a video of the ramp being used after construction. Plans 4 Ramps has a larger selection of ramp designs and you can also ask them to design you one.
u can go to west 49 or the board shop
The first comp ends in December 2008 but there will be another one starting straight after that, and another after that one etc.....Basically Railslide are holding a marathon of comps on the Micro Mini Ramp
