You could do it, providing you use a good quality fabric medium with it, but as most bathing suits are designed to stretch, and get wet, the paint will look "tatty" pretty quickly.

If this is for a one shot deal - a photo shoot, or big beach/pool party, it will most likely look good that long, but fabric paints (or acrylics mixed with fabric medium) don't work well on man-made fibers.

When you paint on canvas, a good starter paint is Acrylic. You can get the basic sets at most craft stores for $6 a piece. Personally i would just get the primary colors and black and white instead of small tubes of a bunch of different colors, you can just mix your own.

A light grey acrylic grey paint what would make it brown?

Well, to be blunt: brown would. Working with a light grey won't be much different than working with a white paint, except the brown will come out less vibrant. There's a lot of ways to make brown, a simple way would be to add a reddish orange to a bit of dark blue.

How do you reuse an artist canvas?

There are several ways to reuse a canvas: (1) You may flip it over and paint on the back. (2) If the original painting is waterbased (acrylic, for example) you can paint directly over it with either acrylic or oil paint. But if the original painting was done using oils, you can only paint directly over it with oils. (3) If you prefer a white ground to start with, you can use a primer called "gesso" and apply it in one or more layers for a fresh start.
