In rice farms, they were swung in circles to hit rice plants to drop the plant's rice into a basket. Sometimes, a samurai would harass and steal from local farmers. In return, the farmers figured out how to use their tools, such as the nunchuck, psi (a three-pronged mini-sword), and staff, for protection.

Nunchucks weren't even a weapon once they were invented. They were actually a farming tool. Then when the peasants of Japan started fighting back against the samurai they were turned into the image today as weapons.

No, they existed long before he came into the picture. They are an ancient tool from Okinawa, probably based on a type of horse bridle.
