What is shuto-uchi?
Shutō-uchi, as spelt in English typeface, is the Japanese word
for "knifehand strike", although some stereotype it's name to the
"karate chop". Shutō-uchi is not how most people would imagine the
strike to look, rather than a vertical slicing movement, the
movement uses the small finger and the side of the wrist the way
along to horizontally drive into the target. If using your right
hand, then the strike should be aimed at the right.
