Japanese Jiujitsu is Aikido's Ancestor. Other styles of Jiujitsu are different, however the Japanese style which is the original style is a root of Aikido. Aikido was created so that you would not destroy your attacker, however jiujitsu is used in combat. The Samurai used techniques that look like Aikido, however it is just a form of Jiujitsu. What Morihei Ueshiba (the founder of Aikido) did was take techniques that he learned from Daito Ryu Jiujitsu and shortened them creating "Aikido". Aikido often talks about protecting your attacker. Ultimately you have the option to protect or destroy once you know techniques, it is up to the Aikidoka.

Kendo refers to the relatively modern Japanese sport in which participants try to score points by striking one another with shinai or bamboo practice swords. Iaido It refers to the most widely practiced formal sword styles, usually made up primarily of solo forms, or "waza." Each form is a prearranged sequence of motions designed to simulate defense against an attack by a swordsperson. The major motions in iaido are the draw, cut, whipping the blood off the blade, and resheathing, but the hallmark of legitimate iaido is the fast, effective draw that not only gets the sword out of the scabbard, but also cuts the attacker. The two most widely practiced iaido styles are Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu and Muso Shinden Ryu.

Kumdo and Kendo are virtually the same martial art with some minor differences. Generally, Kumdo is considered a Korean variant of Kendo and Korean martial artists even participate in the Kendo World Cups. It's argued wether Kumdo developed from ancient Korean swordmanship or simply imported from Japanese Kendo, but in general, both are considered one and the same.

Are there different levels in Kendo?

Kendo uses, I believe, the same belt grading system common throughout Japan. Like in Judo and Karate at the black belt level there are "Dan" grades. Pretty much the same grading system used in Judo and Karate (10th to 1st kyu and 1st to 10th Dan*), the only real difference is that in kendo usually there's no difference in belt colour or anything like that, there's no way one can tell the difference between a begginer and an experienced kendoka just looking at the clothes. *Nowadays, 8th Dan is the highest rank possible in kendo, since there are no more 9th or 10th Dan holders alive.
