The crucifix position (usually referred to simply as the crucifix) is found in ground grappling and involves being perpendicularly behind the opponent your chest against back, and controlling the opponents arms. One of the opponents arms is controlled using the legs, and the other using the arms, hence effectively putting the opponent in a position resembling a crucifix. It is often used to refer to any position that causes the opponents arms to be straight out.
