Kali/Escrima/Arnis (different names for the same martial art) was developed in the Phillipines. It is a style that involves using a particular sort of hanbo (quarterstaff) that is light but sturdy. There are also techniques for use of two hanbo (one in each hand) and some limited empty-handed techniques (presumably that entail disarming/taking the opponent's hanbo). This style is reasonably easy to find in major US cities, and is popular as a sport. If you are looking for an exotic hand-to-hand style from roughly the same region, Indonesia is the birthplace of Pentjak-Silat (or Pencack-Silat), which is very aggressive.
The equipments for getting complete martial arts training depend upon the type of martial art you intend to master. The typical equipments are Samurai sowards, Nanchakus , Plain Escrima Sticks and Karate equipments. This is a complex question that mainly depends on what form of martial arts you intend to train in. For a striking art such as Muay Thai, a suitable punching bag, striking pads, and sparring equipment will be needed. For a grappling based art, investments should be made in things like judo mats so that throws can be done safely. Mixed Martial Arts use all of of this equipment as they train in every aspect of combat; striking, throws, and grappling.
Donnie Yen uses various martial arts. Based on what you see in his movies, he's received training in traditional kung fu (Wing Chun, Wushu) and MMA (in many respects just a mixture of Muay Thai and Brazilian Jujitsu techniques). Some of this training was obtained in his personal life, and some of it was obtained for the specific purposes of a role he was playing. I believe the style he emulates (if there can be said to be only one) in any given movie is typically expressed at some point in the movie, and when it isn't it's MMA. However, in the movie SPL (or Killzone in America) he uses a baton that may indicate he's underwent some contemporary weapons training (krav maga, combat sambo, something Chinese police are taught) or learned some kali/arnis/escrima - however, he may also have just been translating standard hanbo (hand-staff) techniques to the MMA style/pace of the movie.
Escrima
Krav maga is mistaken as the martial art that Josan Bourne uses, but it is really Jeet Kune Do, Escrima and Kali.
