Your first six months will be the hardest. This is when you are building your muscle memory and learning your fundamentals; Many of the movements will feel unnatural to you if you are inexperienced. You also probably won't be in as good of shape as the other martial artist in the gym. But after you have your basics down it becomes easier to learn and build onto the knowledge that you already have.
