How is basketball a form of art?

You could talk about Basketball using hte same adjectives one uses to describe dance.... playing basketball well is very much like dancing. It requires physical discipline, study, knowledge, grace, control, timing etc. Plus, (like anything else) basketball becomes an art when it is an avenue of personal expression. Art is refined communication. So when the basketball being played carries a message to the viewer, it is art.

I don't know if it could be considered art, but I would say it can be a form of expression and technique, very similar to art.
