Sorry there aren't any yet. There are mma schools, and there are places that will show UFC pay-per-views but no mma clubs. Mixed Martial Arts has only been legal for about 3 or 4 months in North Carolina.
It is pretty hard to learn martial arts on the internet. You can learn to do some of the basic movements, but the proper application is something you can only learn from an instructor. Many different web sites will show one or two moves. But one or two moves isn't going to do much to help you.
Michael Chiklis has had very informal training in several arts. This would be no different than any other star that has trained in action movies other than known martial artist legends such as Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, Steven Seagal, etc. Chiklis has played in several movies and tv shows. All of the techniques he would have learned would have been used for his acting career only. For The shield, he had informal training in Aikido, Jiujitsu, and basic striking arts. The requirements are going to vary depending on the school and the style. In most cases, one must be able to demonstrate the required forms or kate, do the appropriate drills and show improvement on the basics.

Bruce Lee showed persistence by learning different types of martial arts. He also founded his own martial art and trained others.
A series of moves designed to show technique and power for that level. A nice way for a instructor to test you.
The answer to this question has different answers depending on which style of martial arts your talking about. Ill try to chose things that cross as many styles as possible. Bow as you enter the Dojo (or equivalent). Always refer to the teacher as sensai (unless your style is otherwise) and never use there name. Do not swear. Bow to your partner before a fight/spa. Most of the stuff you need to do will be told to you, just make sure that your friendly and make it a family safe place.
Your teacher is probably referring to the 1970's TV show called Kung Fu starring David Carradine. Other shows would include The Master with Lee Van Clef in 1984 (Ninjitsu) Martial Law was a detective show in which the martial arts of Sammo Hung, a famous director and actor that stars with Jackie Chan and was even with Bruce Lee were featured. And, of course, there was the Green Hornet, with Bruce Lee, one of the first to feature martial arts on a regular basis.
