Post fliers everywhere.
It depends.
If you mean clothes donation, I advise you to do that through the church have people donate clothes when you have like 5 or more full big boxes of clothing take it to the shelter and take it from there.
If you mean food you should contact Soup Kitchen.
I would not recommend setting up a table outside of your house with free bowls of food. Any one could go get a free bowl homeless or not.

In the US, (you appear to have an British flavor to your Q), contributions to a qualified charity are always deductible. When done for a business, I wpuld suggest that it woyuld be a promotional/advertising expense, even if not to a qualified charity...which of course is also a deductible business expense.

Most people give to charity, because they feel good about helping or feeling bad if they don't help. They also do it to stand up for something.I help charity because just think you might have computers or phones but people who don't have homes or food are the people who you should care for.I hope that they wouldn't buy drugs but if I help charity it makes me feel good.
i don't think that Leonard DA Vinci support charity works ,because before they don't have a charities ..
