The best means of camoflage is to blend in to your surroundings. Camoflage also depends on how you are sought (or how you believe you are being sought!). If someone is seeking you using a heat sensor, then keeping your body temperature low by staying in cold water is the best camoflage. If you are being sought by a shark with a keen sense of smell and poor eyesight, then avoid sweating and urinating in the water. If it's purely a visual means then you would have to apply a small amount of intelligence and make your decision locally. There are many sea creatures with little or no power of thought, that manage this task very well without seeking advice so don't be disheartened.
