The oil cooler on a 2003 CTS is located on top of the engine block between the heads but below the intake manifold. It is not visible with the intake manifold in place but you can see the inlet and outlet lines that run from the side of the engine where the oil filter adapter is mounted around to the back of the engine.
You can tell the oil cooler is bad in a Cadillac CTS 2003 when oil is in the coolant and the water turns into a white muddy substance
2003 cadillac cts has the oil pressure light on
make sure its the head gasket leaking and not the oil cooler. Are you getting oil in your coolaint? Oil coolers are a big problem in this car
The oil cooler in a 2003 Cadillac CTS can fail due to several factors, including internal leaks caused by wear and tear, corrosion from age, or damage from debris. Overheating can also contribute to the deterioration of the cooler's materials. Additionally, a malfunctioning engine or cooling system may increase stress on the oil cooler, leading to premature failure. Regular maintenance and monitoring of engine temperatures can help prevent these issues.
