The O/D off light comes on in your gauge cluster if the overdrive for your transmission has been turned off. The switch that controls your overdrive (able/ disable) feature is on the end of your transmission gear selector lever (Park/reverse/ neutral etc) Just push the switch to allow overdrive or the next time the Explorer is shut off and then started, it normally allows the overdrive feature .
