Support the hatch with a broomstick or other object. The hatch witout anys support is HEAVY. Remove one support strut by removing the bolts. The new strut comes with new hardware, ball sockets, etc. Install as shown on the picture directions that are included. Make sure you save an old bolt because the replacements that I used did not use all the old holes. Align the struct in the same direction as the old one. Carfully try to lower the hatch after installing the first replacement. Then repeat for the second one. Keep in mind there is a different strut number for cars with the spoiler, which is due to the extra weight of the spoiler. I ordered my repalcements from a venodr on eBay.

jack up car, remove wheel, may need a pry bar, remove 2 bottom bolts at bottom of strut. go into trunk area & find top of strut mount and remove the 3 or 4 nuts securing the top. push down hub assembly & pry outward, pull strut down and out. installation is opposite of removal.
* Remove the trunk lid latch * Detach the lock release box from the latch assembly * To detach the lock cylinder from the trunk lid pry off the retainer

Yes it is possible with a bellhousing adaptor plate..... but in short no......Buy the right tranny......or a flux capacitor......
You've got 4 mounts total. A transmission mount, then on the other side of the motor, you've got a mount that goes to the middle of the engine that is in the fender, and upper torque strut and a lower torque strut on that same side.
