hello...could you please advise me on how to remove the oil filter on a 2008 cts..3.6....thank you
There is not a 2.3. It is a 2.8. The oil filter is on the top drivers side about the middle of the engine. There is a "cover" with a hex bolt in the center to remove it. The cts is a very easy oil change.
The oil filter is on the drivers side of the engine. It fits into a canister, using a 24mm wrench to remove.
Please give me the location of the Oil Filter and Oil Plug on a 2007 Cadillac CTS 2.8L Engine.
The Location of the oil filter depends on which engine you have in your CTS. the 3.2 engine the oil filter is located on the bottom of the engine to the left of the oil pan. It is not a screw on type filter it is a canister filter. You will have to unscrew the lid to gain access to the oil filter. On the 3.6 Engine the oil filter is also a canister filter but it is located on the top side of the engine. On the drivers side around the center of the engine cover. It will take a 15/16 socket to remove the lid.
In front of the motor
No
2.8 v6-Facing engine on the right side near the oil fill, and oil dipstick is an aluminum housing. On top of this housing is a nut. Use a 15/16 socket and remove. Inside is the cartridge type oil filter.
On the top. Under the engine cover. It is a cartridge style filter. It is in an aluminum housing with a big cap on it. You take the cap off, and remove the filter. It's very easy, and much less messy than a spin on filter.
You can't go wrong with the original equipment GM filter.
What Oil filter adaptor?? Please elaborate. To remove the oil filter just unscrew it.
Easy way is to remove the battery and take out the oil filter from the top.
