I doubt it. I had Verizon wireless from 2006-2008 and it would charge separate fees for texting and instant messaging. I doubt they have changed it.

Go to Cricket.com and find out. Thats what I would do. Cricket offers a PayGo plan where you pay $1 a day only on the days you use your phone, for unlimited local calling. It's $2 for unlimited long distance and text messaging, again only on the days you use your phone. You need to purchase a Cricket phone, however.
