No. Tsunamis are the result of earthquakes that occur under the ocean, primarily in subduction zones. The Colorado Rockies have neither of these traits.

A tsunami is the result of an underwater earthquake. It's basically just a really, really big wave.
when two plates move inside the earth and build up pressure and then the pressure s released causing an earthquake. after the earthquake if it big enough then it will cause a tsunami
Underwater earthquake, and very likely a resulting tsunami.
It is most likely to have just been caused randomly by the three plates that board Japan or the rather small Chinese earthquake a day prior to the Japanese Earthquake and Tsunami.
You can reduce effect of tsunami but there is no way you can avoid it for certain, area which are most likely to get hit by tsunami are area near sea and ocean (large amount of water) and area which also has high earthquake zone. If you are not affected by these two factors you are very unlikely to get hit by the tsunami.
A tsunami warning machine depends on information that comes from a network of sensors. These sensors indicate when an earthquake happens, and geologists decide if a tsunami is likely. If so, they send out a warning. If the wave sensors pick up actual tsunami activity, the tsunami warning machine is activated in each of the areas that is at risk.
most likely the falling buildings & other structures. also the tsunami can affect the deaths in japan. like drowning
