If you are asking about diesel fuel, one gallon of diesel fuel weighs about 7 pounds. That's the American gallon, a British gallon of diesel would weigh about 8 pounds.
Depends on what the hydraulic oil is going to be used for, if you are going to use the hydraulic fluid in a really pressurized system, i would definitely drain it and discard it, that diesel fuel will dilute and break down the properties of the oil where it could be dangerous to use
The specific gravity of diesel is .83 to .876 at 60 degrees Fahrenheit. That would make it 6.64 to 7.008 pounds per gallon.
i would guess 32 to 45
Diesel will always give you better fuel mileage as diesel fuel itself contains more BTU (the measure of thermal energy) in a given quantity than compared to gas.So therefore a diesel engine can extract more mileage out of a gallon of diesel fuel as there is more energy to extract out of that gallon as compared to a gallon of gas.Considering this, this is why diesel fuel prices would have to rise considerably over gas before the two would be equal on a cost per mile basis.
It would depend on the price per unit volume of diesel where you live.
Fuel is sold by the litre in the UK. The price fluctuates but a litre of diesel is currently around £1.15 Therefore, there are 4.54609 litres in a UK gallon so that would average 5.22 GBP (= 7.75 USD)
I am going to say yes, is it safe NO, a transfer pump is cheaper, and designed to handle diesel, some hyd. pump seal can be destroyed by diesel fuel also. The only hyd. pump I would use if you had to would be a gear type pump
Divide 685 by the number of miles per gallon your vehicle does, then times the answer by the cost of diesel per gallon.
check your fuel filter has water in it more than likely or your water seperator filter ( if it has one ) the same thing.
Considering that a diesel pickup truck can't use gas I would say that there aren't any diesel trucks that get good gas mileage. If you were wondering which diesel truck gets the highest miles per gallon then I would say you should look at the Dodge Cummins diesel.
I have a 1994 vanette and I would estimate 35-40 mpg
