A way to prevent getting pushed all the way to shore is to duck dive. The way to do this is to push your board under the water, and then your body should follow the board under the wave. Surfers do this so they don't get a face full of water and don't get pushed all the way back to shore.

What is wrong with dropping in on another Surfer?

The surfer nearest the breaking part of the wave is seen as the "owner" of the wave in the unofficial rules of surfing culture, anyone in their path should supposedly get out of their way to allow them to ride the wave until the end. "Dropping in" on someone means to cut across the path of another surfer who was standing up before you on that wave, thus stealing the wave. This is seen as dangerous and bad manners, it spoils other surfers enjoyment of the sport and can cause collisions. People will of often be very angry if this happens, it is advisable to avoid such actions, experienced surfers may be more pateint with beginners not yet sure of surfing ettiquette but it is always best to know where you should be on a wave and when waiting for a wave and at what time.

How does a single point on a string move as a transverse wave passes through that point?

As a transverse wave passes through a point on a string, that point moves up and down perpendicular to the direction of wave propagation. The point experiences periodic oscillations as energy is transferred along the string without actual physical movement of the string from one end to the other.

As the energy of a wave moves through the water what happens to the water particles themselves?

As the wave energy passes through the water, the water particles themselves do not move with the wave. Instead, the particles oscillate in a circular motion, transferring energy from one particle to the next. The particles end up returning to their original position after the wave has passed.
