In 2003 Ricky Carmichael was both the AMA 250cc Supercross Champion and the AMA 250cc Outdoor National Motocross Champion.
In 1996 Ricky raced one race at Delmont, Pa. Racing for: Team Spitfire/Pro-Circuit Kawasaki, he finished 8th and that was good enough for Rookie of the year honors. I believe his number was "6" I think. The 8th at Delmont gave Ricky number #70 for the 1997 MX and SX season and he won the Rookie of the Year for finishing 3rd in 125 East SX and 1st in 125 MX AMA National Championship.
