Women were not allowed in the Olympics because women were seen as less then men in that time. This is because the men thought they were stronger and smarter then the women, which left them to do housework. Which also brings up the point that even if women were allowed in, they would not have any time to practice and train because they would always have to tend to the house.

because the men took part naked, so they were carrying the least amount of weight... therefore it was viewed as immoral for women to see this- no surprise there.
