because when you do your stomach goes weird in the water and sometimes you can vomit

Well I know you shouldn't eat at least 1/2 an hour before swimming as you can get stomach cramps. Also you also should warm up before trying to sprint (if you are competitively swimming)
After you eat you should wait 20 minutes before going swimming to prevent a cramp.
