Surfing probably isn't in the Olympics because the Olympics is based over a series of 2 weeks. If hurricanes or storms are on the coast where the surfing would take place, they would have to cancel. Unfortunantly, since it is the Olypics, they cannot cancel, so no matter how dangerous, or how calm the water conditions are, the surfers would have to continue on with the sport.
