That, my dear reader, is quite simple. It all begins with the person who we all call ''the Father of our land, William of Orange''. He was originally a German noble who got the job of taking care of the Lower Lands (the Netherlands) and was prince (not like King and Prince, but something like the boss there) of Orange, a city in France. Because of that he was known as William of Orange. Many years later when Holland became a Kingdom instead of a Republic the decendents (if I write it in a good way) of William, where the Kings and Queens. They where known as the Oranges (William of Orange -> William II of Orange -> Emma of Orange -> Juliana of Orange -> Beathrix of Orange (William-Alexander of Orange). And because we all luv our dear Queen (Beathrix), we wear about anywhere at a National Event the colour Orange.
