To some people its to much work cause you have to spend time practicing each trick and perfecting it wich could take weeks to days before you finally get it down and people dont have the same passion as others to keep going and getting better. and thats when you hear "hey, i used to skate"

It's essentially impossible for there to be "too little time" spent on what is, ultimately, a leisure activity. So, if it has to be one or the other, it's definitely too much.

Sure. It is an industry that employs people and allows other people not involved in the industry, those that enjoy skateboarding, to have recreation and fun. Skateboarding is good for your health and if one is healthy then they will not miss as much school and work than someone that is not healthy. This makes for better students and better employees.
