Basically they are the same. But a long Barrel and a long shoulder stock make a gun a Rifle.
You will have to replace the barrel

His gun is a double barrel shotgun. There are a few kinds, but his is a generic long barrel type shotgun.

Rifle, handgun and shotgun can all have "long" barrels
As long as it has the correct barrel threads it will. JT markers are spyder threaded, just make sure the barrel has spyder threads and yes it will work.
I would have to know more about it but if it has choke tubes then no it would not make a good slug gun. If it was a Fixed barrel then you could saw about an inch off and then it would be.
