It's much more about technique than it is about speed. With the right technique (bunnyhopping) you can jump a BMX at crawling speed, on flat ground. After that, more speed + bigger ramps = longer/higher jumps.

There's no telling. The BMX is probably smaller, so it should be lighter. OTOH they're often amazingly chunkily built and can be surprisingly heavy.
