the pressure would simply crush a person in a flexible one so the rigid diving suit allows the person to go deeper than they normally would with a flexible wet suit

Why do you think a person going to the depths of the sea requires a rigid diving suit instead of a flexible one?

A person going to the depths of the sea requires a rigid diving suit instead of a flexible one because of the extense pressure of the fluid. As we know that pressure at a point in a fluid is directly proportional to the depth of that point, thus, a deep sea diver needs a rigid suit.

Why must diving suits be rigid instead of flexible?

The rigid diving suit is pressurized to offset depth pressure and it needs rigidity to prevent it from expanding, allowing the person to swim easily.

How can you explore sea depths?

Jump to the bottom of the sea with a diving helmet

What is a bathyscaphe?

What is the diving depth for the Invicta watch?

Why does a person going to the depths of the sea require a rigid diving suit instead of a flexible one?

A flexible suit means that the pressure of the surrounding water has to be resisted by breathing gasses at the same pressure as that exerted by the surrounding water. At these pressures gasses become toxic and it is also difficult to degas safely on ascent. A rigid suit resists the pressure of the water at depth and allows the occupant to breath air at the equivalent of surface pressures. This overcomes the gas problem but makes the diver more cumbersome.

Will scuba diving turn you gay?

Yes. The chemical imbalance inside your brain when diving at deep depths and then returning to surface is proven to cause gaydom. (see msgt hall for further questions)

What is the percentage of oxygen and helium in diving?

The percentage of oxygen in diving varies depending on the diving depth and the type of diving. For recreational diving, the typical oxygen concentration is around 21%. However, for technical diving, the oxygen concentration can be increased up to 100% to reduce the risk of nitrogen narcosis at greater depths. Helium is often used as a diluent gas in technical diving to reduce the amount of nitrogen in breathing mixtures at very deep depths. The percentage of helium varies typically between 0% and 90% depending on the dive plan and depth.

What is the purpose of a diving computer?

The most basic function of a diving computer is to track decompression status so divers don't get sick in the water. They can also help make calculating dive tables, depths and times easier.
