Here force=the weight of the ball /the force at which the ball comes to the cricketer's hand

Time=the time of contact of the cricket ball with the cricketr's hand.

If the time of contact increases the force applied by the ball on the cricketer's hand decreases.So he lowers his hand while catching a ball.

Beacause when a player knowingly has to chatch the ball it is best for him to be able to see when the ball comes therefore bein turned around, for example you cant just run straight then turn at a certain point because the person throghing isn't always going to able to waight as long so it is best to run backwards so you can see when to catch the ball:)
