While in defence they all the teams have different setups of defence. its basically up to the coach and where he wants the players to be.

Every time a football game is played, there are 22 players on the field, each in different football positions. Even though it looks like many of the offensive players and defensive players are doing the same thing, there are distinctions between the different positions.
In field hockey, there are eleven different positions numbering to 22 people on the field at once. In ice hockey, there are four (6 if you want to be specific) positions numbering to 12 people on the ice at once.
Two strikers, two forwards to the side, two midfielders, and four defense, along with the goalkeeper.
The Laws of the Game define one (and only one) position: the Goalkeeper. Many coaches will say that there are no positions in soccer, because the players are not limited to only certain parts of the playing field; 'positions' are just strategical guidelines.
I assume you mean positions.. The maing ones are Forwards, Midfields, Defenders, and Goalkeeper.. You can decide how you want them to be placed as long as there are 11 players on the field in outdoor, and 5 in indoor.
There are always nine players from the same team on a field at one time. Their positions are the following: 1) Right Field 2) Left Field 3) Center Field 4) 1st Baseman 5) Second Baseman 6) 3rd Baseman 7) Short Stop 8) Pitcher 9) Catcher is not actually on the field
