They don't. If you have thick bones you can play as a forward or if your skinny and have small bones you can as a back, everyone winns
to get force behind their tackles and stuff
they should have strong bones because this will help them to
take hits from other players....

Some players just want to play rugby but mostly because rugby pays better then league.
