∙ 11y agoIf I remember right the reason the changed the Olympics to stagger every 2 years had to do with the cost of nations sending athletes to compete. In some countries the cost of travel and lodging is paid for the that nation the athlete is competing for, by having them every 2 years cuts down on the cost.
Does the summer Olympics occur every 2 years?
The Summer Olympics are held 4 years apart, The Winter Olympics are held 4 years apart, They alternate every 2 years. The Special Olympics are held immediatly after the regular Olympics
The 2014 Winter Olympics will be held in Sochi, Russia.
there are 4 years in between the 'summer' Olympics, and then, 2 years later, the winter Olympics. e.g. the Olympics in 2008, the winter Olympics in 2010 and then the Olympics in 2012 and so-on.
At that time, both the Winter Olympics and the Summer Olympics were being held in the same year. Both Olympics were held in 1976 and then in 1980. It wasn't until 1994 that the Winter Olympics was separated from the Summer Olympics by 2 years.
The Olympics are every 4 years, but since we have the season of summer & winter Olympics it is more like every 2 years for the Olympics.
Every four years.
the winter Olympics occurs every 4 years, 2 years after each summer Olympics.
They are held every 4 years, not every 2 years
because the summer Olympics come every 4 years and so do the winter Olympics. they alternate every 2 years. so this year is winter and in 2 years in summer
