Prince Harry was invited to throw the first pitch at the June 26 game between the Mets and the Twins by Mets owner Fred Wilpon.

The prince, a lieutenant in the British Army, is on a three-day visit to the United States to help develop a system wherein British and U.S. veterans charities can more closely cooperate in assisting wounded troops returning home. Mets owner Wilpon is the founder of Welcome Back Veterans, a charity which provides support and treatment for soldiers with post-traumatic stress disorder.
