i disagree, in the five games this season against the big 4 so far (twice against Manchester United, once against liverpool, arsenal and manchester city) chelsea have scored a total of 10 goals, which is an average of two goals a game, an acceptable amount against teams of that stature. However, i think the question should be why do chelsea concede so many goals against the 'big 4'? In those five games chelsea have conceded 14 goals, plus a further two goals in the 2-0 loss in the carling cup to Liverpool, which brings it to a total of 16 goals in 6 games. Its not to say Chelsea dont have a stable defensive line, rather i think its the midfield selection against these teams by Andre Villas Boas was incorrect as he chose to play more attack minded players in the middle third.
