Pierre de Coubertin wrote the Olympics motto~citius, altius, fortius~swifter, higher stronger, borrowing the phrase from his friend in 1921.

if you're talking bout the Paralympics, it's 'spirit in motion' but i think Athens made it up. hope this helps :)
