Tino Martinez was the New York Yankees first baseman in 2000, and 2001. Jasom Giambi took over in 2002 and was the firat baseman until 2008. In 2004, and 2007 Giambi spent most of the time on the DL and the Yankees had a number of players fill in for him including Tony Clark, Johm Olerude and Doug Mientkiewicz. In 2009 the Yankees signed Mark Teixeira.
