O.A. "Bum" Phillips was the New Orleans Saints' head coach for the first 12 games of the 1985 season. He resigned after a 4-and-8 start and was replaced by his son, defensive coordinator Wade Phillips, who guided the Saints to a 1-and-3 record for the remainder of the season.
