Tony Gwynn (born May 9, 1960 in Los Angeles, California; died June 16, 2014 in Poway, California) is a former Major League Baseball player who played for the San Diego Padres for the entirety of his 19-year career.

Gwynn was a fifteen-time All-Star, an eight-time National League batting champion, and the 1999 winner of the Roberto Clemente Award.

After several battles with cancer, the disease claimed his life in June 2014, at the age of 54.
