Tip O'Neill, born in Ontario, was a professional ball player between 1883-1892 for several teams in the National League and American Association. He played in the outfield and did a little pitching. He is credited with a batting average of .435 in the 1887 season and won the American Association triple crown. He led the AA in batting average in 1887 and 1888.
