With Alabama trailing 21-10, senior quarterback Brodie Croyle completed a fourth-and-12 pass from the USM 43-yard line to Prothro with 17 seconds left in the first half. Prothro's unbelievable catch gave Alabama a first-and-goal at the Southern Miss one-yard line and set up Croyle's one-yard TD pass to Le'Ron McClain as UA cut the halftime deficit to 21-17. The Crimson Tide won the game 30-21 as they scored 20 unanswered points after falling behind 21-10 in the second quarter.
