Who invented rope?

Roping was not necessarily invented but mostly the only way in the old days to catch calves to brand or to doctor them. It evolved into a sport after a while when the cowboys started to get competitive while working on the ranch. Finally in 1929 the Rodeo Association of America was founded which evolved into today's PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboy's Association). Here are a few good websites that you can learn a lot from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_rodeo http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calf_roping http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Team_roping http://www.prorodeo.com/

What states are cowboys found in?

Cowboys can be found in pretty much any state. Especially rodeo cowboys because they travel from rodeo to rodeo. Obviously Texas and Wyoming probably have the most. The west in general has a lot( Arizona, New Mexico) The south is more known for country boys than cowboys but there are a lot there too. The only places where I would guess would have less would be the North or east but even they have some. So long story short EVERYWHERE. Just in some places more than others, and most of the time away from larger cities. Hope I helped a little for ya!
