Opinion
I don't think you will find many people that are going to agree with those 3 people listed above. This is obviously a question just open to opinion, but to think Chipper Jones is the best in history, I laugh, he wasnt even the top 5 of his era -- Derek Jeter, he is great.. but we are talking all-time -- Babe Ruth, you would find people to agree with that, but here is my top 5 in no order.
1. Lou Gehrig
2. Albert Pujols (this might get some looks.. but wait until his career is over and then..)
3. Roger Hornsby
4. Shoeless Joe Jackson
5. Walter Johnson
Mickey Mantle has to be in there for sure, but yeah Chipper Jones is no where near the top 1000 baseball players. Mike Schmidt was far better of a 3rd baseman as chipper. 17 years both playing Mike Schmidt had 12 all star picks, 10 gold glove awards, 6 slugger awards, 3 NL MVP, and 1 World Series MVP, along with 4 HRs in One Game. Chipper in 17 years has 6 all star picks, 1 NL mvp, 2 slugger awards. Do the math, c'mon. I grew up in ATL and even Andrew Jones was more dominant than chipper.
